When we first see Kyoko, she is seen in the background chatting with someone, surprised with the conversation as if she doesn’t see anything wrong with it, though later is introduced as the love interest of our male protagonist, Tsuna, and it seems she is the only reason that he goes to school since he has horrible grades.

Immediately, from Tsuna, we get this view of this girl that seems to be very pretty and popular, or at least in his eyes. It’s partially true but she never seems to appeal to either thought. Kyoko even seems to meet Reborn early and it seems that it doesn’t bother her that he’s in the mafia; at this point, we aren’t sure if she doesn’t mind or she’s simply playing along, but from her later actions, it seems that she’s simply open-minded.

She seems to have a fiery attitude, seeing that she was seen as a prize from this match that Mochida and Tsuna were to have, that she was about to grab Mochida and give him a piece of her mind but her friends held her back. Even after yelling and running away from Tsuna earlier on the same day – though he was in Dying Will Mode and only in his boxers – she seems to open up to him as she simply laughs and thinks of him as more than an ordinary guy after he defeats Mochida.

From then on, Kyoko seems to be in Tsuna’s crazy antics and somehow doesn’t mind. One out of the two times that she gets hit with the Dying Will Bullet is when a bit of her personality does show. It happens when she is over Tsuna’s house and they end up playing Russian Roulette. Kyoko is accidently hit and reborn as she ran off and tells off Nana, Tsuna’s mom, to retract a statement about Tsuna being a no good son. It shows that she wouldn’t have been afraid to say something if given a chance.

Later on, Kyoko doesn’t seem to be too involved in Tsuna's antics but seems to accept every story from her brother about his injuries that are involved with the mafia. Even though she does worry for her brother because of a previous incident, she seems to pass off every story as truth. One would think she’s easily fooled, but with her nature, she most likely wasn’t. Seeing that her brother seems to make crazy stories for his injuries, she would most likely isn’t one to bother about exactly what happens. It doesn’t mean that she didn’t notice there was more that what he was saying; it just didn’t matter as long as he was safe even if she disapproved.

In the Future Arc, after being poofed in to the future and noticing Tsuna go into Hyper Dying Will Mode, she worries for the boy's safety and even is willing to run to him, but stops - after being told to - knowing that he could handle it. She also is Haru's anchor as she seems to be a bit more calmer when she receives the news of the future they are in. Of course, her and Haru seem to immediately bounce back as they both try their best to help out. Even so, she does end up worrying about her brother and everything else when she isn't around people. As a result, it shows that even she can be reckless but intelligent as she was able to get away and hide at her friend’s Hana without detection from the Millefiore. She's grateful for Hana's help even if she's scared. 

Her stubbornness is shown not too long after as her and Haru actually went on strike from doing any housework until Tsuna would explain about the situation of the Mafia and everything else that revolved around it. She retracts the strike, as she sees everyone else's needs for their help is greater, but is still told about everything, which led to her giving advice on how to open Tsuna's box.

Later in the Inheritance Ceremony Arc, she's is shown giving a bento to Chrome with the other girls, though they weren't able to find her there. Kyoko seems to show her kindness to those she isn't too familiar with, though she might considers themselves as friends since they both belong to Tsuna's circle.

Kyoko, though a minor character, is one of the many pillars for Tsuna. 

• Fighting - She is not afraid of the action of it; it's more of the end result that she dislikes. Since she was taken as bait in one instance so they can fight her brother, and he resulted with the scar, she always scared when her brother does anything like so. It frightens her since she never wants him to be in a position like so.
• Losing her brother - Within the same reasoning of fighting, she adores her brother a lot so losing him would really break her.

• She isn't a fighter - more of a pacifist -  so she has no strength whatsoever. Not necessarily frail but she wouldn't be able to hold up on her own  against someone; can be overpowered easily.
• She's a very plain human with no extraordinary skills, or at least nothing visible so far.
• Because of her age, she could be fooled very easily.
• Her willingness to help people could be taken too far, as she tries in all of her ability to help.

• As it seems that she does well at school, she seems to be able to retain information of certain subjects.
• She's able to do housework, like cook, clean, etc.
• As shown, she is willing to do something drastic so she could get her way. [i.e. Not doing anything until she knew about the Mafia]
• She'd put the needs of others before herself.
• Always willing to help in any way that she can.
• Can be very empathetic.
• She's resourceful and clever.

• Mist/Sun Flame - Though she doesn't show signs of having the Mist Flame or any other, it doesn't mean there isn't a possibility she couldn't have one. Her brother owns a flame  and since she's been able to be hit with the Dying Will Bullet and survive, it means she has some sort of flame within her. She seems to be good at deception so the Mist Flame seems to suit her though her, though she might have the Sun Flame simply because she has a similar mindset like her brother.

With Haru walking by her side, chatting away about the random subjects, she couldn’t help but have her mind wonder off at the thought of what could she get everyone for Christmas. They were off for the holidays so she only had a few days to get everyone’s present but she really had no idea where to start. Her brother wasn’t too hard to get for since he said he needed some new boxing gloves.

Glancing over at her friend beside her, Kyoko maybe thought some sewing supplies would be good since she knew that Haru made odd costumes. It was then she listed off everyone she knew and was able to find something simple to get everyone. It was hard to get everyone something since her allowance could only get so far.

When she got to Tsuna, she couldn’t help but get a small smile on her face. She did return his feelings but she was a bit dense to see that the feeling was mutual, though she knew Haru harbored some feelings for the boy as well so she didn’t want to step on any toes. Even so, she had a hard time thinking what would be the perfect presents.

Haru then poked her, wondering what that smile on her face was for. Seeing that she was looking at her, Kyoko shook her head and smiled, as to get the attention off her, even if her cheeks were a tint of pink.

“I was thinking who to get gifts for is all.”

She wasn’t one to lie to her friend, but she wasn’t completely telling everything on her mind. Haru, on the hand, went on another rant of what good presents would be. Kyoko couldn’t help but laugh a bit as she listened to her dear friend.

 “Let’s go to the shopping center and see what we can find then.”

Kyoko suggested so and Haru simply dragged her as they started their shopping adventure.
